Could be! In my opinion, I think a lot of UltraSparcII chips should be considered samples, at least the 400 Mhz 8 meg cache ones. They are so buggy. They tried to fix them with a kernel patch, then bring out mirrored cache versions, then base future chips off of it, then scrap the UltraSparcIV, and now for some reason Sun is going x86 ...hmmm... go figure.
